Matamata Book Launch!

It was a great occasion on Sunday 19 May at the Matamata Memorial Centre
for the launch of ‘The Fortunate Ones”, the final book in the May series.  The
organisers turned up in early 20th century regalia which was a lovely surprise
for Phyllis.

Many fans of the series and the author came out to support the launch and
hear more of the riveting stories that Phyllis told about life in pioneer times,
and how she wrote the books.

Phyllis has a busy schedule for the rest of May with 2 events to speak at in Auckland for the Auckland Home Schoolers – dozens of children are busy reading the first 2 books in the series in preparation for Phyllis’ visit in late May.

A big thank you to everyone who came and supported Phyllis and the books. Enjoy!

  1. That’s me chatting with Phyllis. Great to have my Christmas present, The Fortunate Ones signed. The earlier books were signed by Phyllis for me in the 1980s in Stratford.
I read my Year Three class the first three May books last year, and introduced another generation of NZ readers to Phyllis’s books.
